Should I Get Tested for Chlamydia if I Have No Symptoms?
Yes, testing may still be appropriate after an exposure or as part of sexual-health screening. Chlamydia often causes no symptoms, so feeling well does not rule it out. A physician can review the type and timing of sexual contact and whether a partner has received a positive result.
The sample needed can depend on the sites exposed; a urine test alone does not answer every testing question. Very recent exposure may also affect when testing is useful, so ask about timing and whether repeat testing is needed.
What Happens if My Chlamydia Test Is Positive?
A physician can review the result, prescribe suitable antibiotic treatment and explain how to reduce reinfection. Pregnancy, allergies, symptoms and other medicines affect the treatment choice.
